Man accused of helping brother flee appears in court | News

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF)- One of the brothers involved in the death of a
Lauderdale County man appeared in court Friday.

Jerry Brewer went before a Lauderdale County judge. Brewer is accused of helping Shannon Brewer leave the state after the murder of Mark Dishon.

Brewer's attorneys requested for the dismissal of theft
charges because he said investigators didn't know for certain which brother drove the
stolen car.

The judge denied the request.

Brewer's attorney also requested a bond reduction and asked
for work release but it was also denied on the grounds that Brewer is a flight
risk.

Brewer's case is now headed for the grand jury.
