Kitchen Cops; 6 low performers | News
MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF)- Taqueria y Restaurante mi Princesa in Boaz scored lower than an 85 for the fourth straight inspection, keeping the restaurant of the Marshall County health Department's reinspection schedule.
The restaurant has scored 74, 79, 81 and 82. During the most recent inspection, the health inspector cited the restaurant for Teflon peeling off of pans and a broken strainer. The inspector also reported there was no measurable chlorine in the dish machine's final rinse.
Tortilleria y Tienda el Nino is this week's lowest scoring low performer with a 79. The inspector docked the restaurant for pest control issues and says they discovered lard with meat pieces at room temperature.
The Oakland Café & Market in Florence scored an 84 with the Lauderdale County Health Department. The inspector reported a dirty ice machine, cracked and uncleanable utensils and personal drinks stored with food.
The Corner Market in Albertville scored an 81. The inspector reported an excessive number of flies in the kitchen.
Taqueria Guanajuato in Albertville scored an 83. The inspector reported workers were washing utensils and preparing food in the same sink at the same time. They also reported that carninas were 25 degrees below the minimum temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in hot-holding foods.
The La Orquidea Bakery in Albertville scored an 83. the inspector took off points for employee drinks sitting too close to the food service area.
