Florence Police investigate armed robbery | Crime

Florence Police are investigating an armed robbery near the UNA campus.

A Lion Alert sent to students stated that around 1:30 a.m., two black males wearing dark clothing and ski masks committed an armed robbery near the intersection of Nellie and Hermitage.

Officials said the men jumped a UNA student, pistol whipped him and took off with money.

The student was injured but did not got to the hospital for treatment.

Police are telling residents to be alert, travel in groups and notify the police of any suspicious activity.
