Man accused of reselling stolen metal

Florence Police have arrested and charged a man with theft and burglary. They say he was stealing metal from the Dixie Heat Treating Company, and reselling it to scrap yards.

27 year old Timothy Oliger, also known as Joseph Wilson, was an employee at the plant.

Investigators were called to the Roberson Scrap Metal plant on Canal Street Monday after they got a call about a man trying to sell suspicious metal. Police believe Oliger took about $24,000 worth of metal from the plant over the course of a single week.

Oliger is free on $6,500 bond.
