New performing center opens at UNA | Community Spirit

A new performance center is ready to debut in the Shoals.

The Mane Room will open Friday afternoon with a special invitation-only ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 p.m. The first performance will be that night at 7:30 with local groups The Decoys and Rhyal Knight.

The Mane Room is a 9,000 square foot facility on the University of North Alabama campus on Tombigbee Street.

"I look forward to having some shows there and bringing good entertainment to town," said Dr. Robert Garfrerick, chair of the Department of Entertainment Industry. "This venue has enormous potential for the community and for our students."
