Get muddy at the River Bottom Swamp Romp | Community Spirit
Ready to get muddy, Southern-style? The River Bottom Swamp Romp on September 7 is a very muddy, obstacle-laden race in McFarland Park, Florence. The races will run every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are sure to be a fun ordeal.
The race is an adventurous five miles with twenty difference obstacles for runners to overcome. The course is designed for those less conditioned runners to be able to conquer it, but it will be difficult enough to make it a challenge!
Kids will be able to run, for free, on the Kids Fun Run, which is a smaller, but not less muddy, version of the adult course. Registration for different age groups is available online. Live music will be provided until 6 p.m.
Early registration for the race is $40 for a single admission, $35 for a team. Lodging is available at the park’s campground, which has full facilities and will be open for the event all weekend. Many area hotels are giving discounts in light of the event, and Stay and Play packages with special hotel rates will be available on the ticket site.
