UNA honored by Chronicle of Higher Education | Community Spirit
The University of North Alabama received the honor of being named one of America’s “Great Colleges to Work For in 2013” by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
The publication selected the college based on employee responses in twelve evaluation categories.
Dr. William Cale, president of the college, said the students are the ones who will really benefit from this award. He said when many people want to work for the school, the school can be more selective when choosing new employees.
“I think anytime an organization is recognized as being a great place to work, people feel good about being associated with it,” he said. “And we know that when we have a job opening, many many people apply, so there’s tremendous interest in working for UNA, and I think there’s a variety of reasons as to why that’s the case.”
The publication honored 96 other schools, including Troy University and the University of Montevallo.
